The feast of the Holy Prophet Elias
On the feast of the Holy Prophet Elias, let us remember another important day in each of our lives — the day of our Baptism and Chrismation.
On that day, through the Holy Mysteries of Baptism and Chrismation, we were anointed to share in Christ’s priestly, royal, and prophetic mission. Christ, our High Priest, calls us to become more like Him in our daily lives: to live our priestly calling through prayer and by praying for one another; to live our royal calling through loving service and care for our families and those around us; and to live our prophetic calling by bearing witness to God’s presence in our lives.
Let us look to the Holy Prophet Elias as an example of faithfulness and devotion to God. Let us read Holy Scripture, listen to the teachings of our faith, deepen our knowledge through spiritual reading, and remain steadfast in prayer.
And above all, let us bear witness to God’s presence — not only with our words, but through the way we live our lives.
