A living relationship with God
We’ve listened to the Parable of the Wicked Tenants, in which a landowner entrusts his vineyard to tenants. When the time comes for them to give him the fruit that is rightfully his, they refuse, forgetting that the vineyard was never truly theirs.
Let us consider what this parable can tell us about our own relationship with God. God gives us life and His love. In return, He asks for our trust, faith, and gratitude — a living relationship with Him. Yet we can become like the tenants in the vineyard. We become so busy tending to our lives that we forget the One from whom everything ultimately comes.
Let us remember to cultivate an ongoing relationship with God: through quiet words of gratitude, through asking for His help and guidance, and through the living prayer of the heart.
