Reflections from our pilgrimage
As we walked through the forest on our pilgrimage, we noticed many fallen trees, especially along the streams. The rushing water had gradually washed away the soil that once supported their roots, leaving them unable to stand.
Our lives can be much the same. Time moves quickly, carrying away the things that keep us grounded if we do not care for them. During this pilgrimage, we offered our prayers in gratitude for our grandparents, who passed on to us the gift of faith, love of God, and the traditions that continue to guide our lives today.
Just as strong roots help a tree withstand the forces of nature, our spiritual roots help us remain steadfast amid the demands and distractions of everyday life. May we continue to nurture these roots with gratitude, prayer, and faith, so that no matter how fast life moves around us, we remain firmly rooted in God.
